Novalene, a White Mountain Apache Tribe member, has served as an Assistant Scientist at the Center for Indigenous Health in Whiteriver, AZ since 1997. With over 25 years of experience, she leads behavioral interventions for Apache youth and mothers, focusing on suicide prevention and parenting skills. She oversees Case Managers and facilitates community advisory boards. Dr. Haroz, an Associate Professor and psychiatric epidemiologist, specializes in mental health and substance use intervention studies. Her research combines implementation science, machine learning, and mixed methods to improve mental health in AI/AN communities. Both work extensively with Indigenous communities to promote well-being.
