Abstract

Many systemic diseases are associated with oral or gastric viruses or bacteria. A causal relationship is almost established between Fusobacterium nucleatum and digestive cancers, Prevotella enterotype and Parkinson’s disease, Porphyromonas gingivalis or Herpes simplex type 1 and Alzheimer, Epstein-Barr virus and multiple sclerosis ou long-COVID or lymphoma/myeloma, Aggregatibacter and rheumatoid arthritis/arterial aneurysm, etc.

Therefore, the control of recurrent herpes viruses and oral anaerobic bacteria appears as one of the main objectives of preventive medicine.

Specific mushrooms associated with tiny amounts of essential oils enable to clean the foregut of these undesirable inhabitants. Such an approach – which eliminates aggressive biofilms and increases autophagy - increases the diversity of the digestive flora and therefore does not favour overweight with diabetes type 2.

A salivary calprotectin level below 450 IU/ml indicates that oral inflammation is under control. This inexpensive test almost excludes any chronic inflammation of the foregut and brain.
